Funny Looking Words

Zeroes is a funny word

It kind of looks like a foreign word, look at it like Zer - oes.

"Oh that's the foreign exchange student from Greece, Zeroes Pappadoppolis"

These are the words that drive me crazy because they never look like they are spelled right. There seem to be a lot of words that get spoken quite often but you rarely see written. Another one that drives me nuts is Whether. I still don't believe that is the right way to spell it but every spell checker so far says so.

Back in Shakespeare's time there wasn't any standardized spelling, the Olde Bard himself spelt his name 16 different ways. One might convincingly reason that the productivity and quality of English compositions since then have been on a downward trend.
